I think that the move of most people away from racist views is probably the largest change in US culture I’ve noticed. It has always bothered me when the racism card is played for political power. While it is useful for a political party to have a group to hate, racism is wrong always.
Comments like these show the degree of anti-intellectualism and racism that has placed the country into a very, very deep hole. In power these attitudes have hurt us all. As usual Krugman is bang-on, no wonder he won a Nobel prize.
I enjoy Paul Krugman’s editorial each Monday in the New York times and always carefully read the science insert each Tuesday. It is a great newspaper.
